Who We Are
We are a group of students from Animas High School, in Durango Colorado. Our goal is to have a solar car up and running in time to compete in the Solar Car Challenge. The Solar Car Challenge is a nation-wide competition where student-led groups design and build solar cars that they then drive in a race. This year's race is being held at the Texas Motor Speedway in Texas Fort Worth. For more information about the Solar Car Challenge, click the link below.

There are now more members of the team for the 2020 race: Grady James senior (left), Jem Van Tyn senior (middle), Henry haggart graduated senior (right). |
Left is a picture of the car at the 2016 cross country race from Texas to Minnesota. The 2015-2016 team was comprised of Domi Friedeger and Dylan Kroes. They built the car and successfully entered in the race. The car that they built is a great starting point for us to leap from. Last year at the 2019 Solar Car Challenge we raced this car again for the first time since 2015 at the 2019 track race.
